About the Zine
"You'll never do a whole lot unless you're brave enough to try."
This zine is in tribute to the incredible life lived by Dolly Parton and her profound effect on countless lives.
Guidelines
Zine Specs:All specs are tentative and are subject to change after a formatting mod is on-boarded.• Should there be interest in a physical release: The zine will be in A5 (5.8” x 8.3” / 148mm x 210mm), CMYK printing• Should there be interest in a digital release: This zine will be in A5 (5.8” x 8.3” / 148mm x 210mm), RGB format• Should there be interest and available mod for a digital cover album: This digital album will be included with the zine, whether physical or digital, and cover 5-10 songs from Dolly Parton.-About the Zine:•While we are aiming for this to be a physical release zine, should the interest for that not be there we will move forward with a digital release. Whether that will be for sale or not will be determined later.•This zine will be SFW and will showcase Dolly through art and writing in all she has done- whether that be her musical performances, her acting, or her philanthropy.•This will be a no-chase zine. If you do not meet the timeframe for joining the discord, submitting pitches, or meeting your deadlines without letting the mods know, we will consider that as a resignation from the zine.•Artists and writers hold full rights to their piece once the zine concludes. Until the conclusion of the zine, we ask that no form of your pieces be shared, including pitches and drafts. Breach of this rule will result in your exclusion from the zine.•We will have a quality and style in mind for the physical release of the zine, but there is the intention that the digital zine will be larger and include more people. We have this idea so there can both be more content to offer people, and so more people can be apart of the project and the love of Miss Dolly.-About the Application Process:•Contributors must be 18+ by the type of applications closing. No exceptions.
•Plagiarism or use of AI in any form through any part of the process will not be tolerated in any shape or form. If you are caught doing this, you will be removed from the zine and barred from future entries in other zines.•Accepted contributors must join the zine's Discord server. If you can not or will not join, you can not participate.•We ask that you submit at least two full colored illustrations in your application, and/or one finished writing piece, so we can best assess your potential entries.•Please ensure that any pieces you submit are accessible for the mods to view. If we can not see them, we will have to consider your application incomplete.•Mods will only be judging on the skill the artists show and the relevancy of their pieces. Followers, mod association, or anything of that sort will not be considered in the acceptance of your contributor application.

I quote "That's what I wanna be when I grow up: Trash!" all the time. It meant a lot to me as a woman who also loved the style and beauty that didn't quite fit the mold of my environment. I saw Dolly make a rhythm on her nails the same way I do mine. I would talk about the Imagination Library with my friends and how they signed up their kids for it.In Dolly, I saw the person I always wanted to be, and am still striving to be, and when she passed away, I suddenly realized what an incredible impact she had on my life, and I'm not alone in that.I want to bring together that love that people have, and I want to do something good with it, even just a little bit!
